It was the Chancellors autumn statement today and he revealed a projected £120 billion hole in the public finances which has been caused by Brexit. Now I know this is only a forecast and not real money, but when forecasts show bad news they are invariably over optimistic when looked back on with the benefit of hindsight.
The most amazing thing I find in this is that the Conservatives still manage to keep their reputation of competence. The whole Brexit fiasco was created by David Cameron as a way to ‘solve the Europe problem’ and yet has left us staring over a cliff edge and still the Tories are seen as a safer pair of hands than Labour.
I look back to May 2015 and think about the choices people made in the general election and think we would have been much better off if Ed Milliband had won.
